Changing Waves The sun rises on a new day. Rays of light reflect off white sand. Seagulls flutter their wings and fly off in search of a meal. It’s a clear bright day. A lone stranger Appears at the edge of happiness. Slowly, he walks across the white sand, warming his feet. Looking out to the beautiful sea, he notices, that today, the waves are magnificent. Today, he enjoys himself. The sun sets behind beauty. The sun rises on a new day. Rays of light reflect off white sand. Seagulls flutter their wings and fly off in search of a meal. It’s a clear bright day. The lone stranger returns. The bright sand warms his feet. Looking out again, he’s disappointed. The melody of the sea doesn’t pass through his hears. Today, he is sad. The sun sets in front of beauty. The sun rises on a new day. Rays of light reflect off white sand. Seagulls flutter their wings and fly off in search of a meal. It’s a clear bright day. He returns. Today he smiles. The sun sets behind beauty. Again he returns. That day he frowns. The sun sets in front of beauty. Every other day it’s the same. He’s frustrated. - Fire P.S. Normally, when I post poems, they usually reflect how I'm feeling. However, with this poem and the next few poems, that fact won't be true, considering I've been away from the computer a few days. So don't believe I'm frustrated at this point, or whatever emotion that may come up. Actually I am frustrated, frustrated at the fact that memorizing Spanish lines is not fun. Good Evening everyone! It's great to be back at home. I came back from a Confirmation II retreat earliar today at around 6:30. It was much fun, much more fun that I thought it would be. I never noticed that this group of people, Youth Ministry, could be so lively. Sure, I saw it alot over the past two years. But it wasn't until this weekend did it appeal to me. It was a pleasure to enjoy a weekend with them but it was very unfortunate that I never enjoyed them over the past two years. But I have signed up for S.A.L.T. so there are a few more years left. This weekend, I did alot of stuff. Friday, we left for Alpine up near Arrowhead. It was a two hour drive. I was supposed to bring a sack lunch, but I forgot, so I picked food off of everyone else. I got to watch Forest Gump which was great. Good movie. "Sir, I got shot in the buttocks." That night, we sang and listened. Saturday, we did this rope course thing where are group comes together and completes a task given to us. Matt, one of the guys of the group, came up with a brilliant idea to save the egg from a toxic waste dump. That was good. At night, we performed our skits. Our group was good, but kinda lame compared to the other groups, especially the Star Wars one. Then Sunday, we just listened to a few speakers and packed up and went home. There were so many comments about Servite boys. But whats great about our Youth Ministry is that it is all fun and games. The Servite boys don't mind, as a matter of fact, they were laughing along and even making fun of themselves. All of them are great. It's so nice up there. Have you ever breathed a cloud? (Look out for that line...) We we're so high up, the clouds would roll over the mounatin and pass right through the camp grounds. It was so nice and cold. It was relaxing. The world is a small world too. Much smaller that what I thought it was. Well, Spring Break is over, unfortunately. Back to Spanish, which I have to memorize and I forgot too! Argh! and dumb ole' English and that stupid Research Paper! - Fire P.S. If anyone is interested in good reading and good poetry, go to this blog that my oney-chan discovered. . |
